The Register comments on the new Sony Ericsson P990 mobile phone. Though to call the P990 just a phone is somewhat of a misnomer. More of a tiny laptop that also includes a phone. In fact I still use a laptop from time to time that has less power than the Sony Ericsson P990. It seems it is aimed squarely at the Blackberry market. Remember Transformers - Robots in Disguise? The Sony Ericsson P990 would have been one of them if mobile phones had existed back then.

Mobile Insurance a Waste of Money
According to this mobile phone article in the Guardian, mobile phone insurance is a waste of money, is often invalidated withouth the customer knowing and most people could save around £100 per year if they didn’t have it. Apparently a handset could be replaced for around £40.
It said though that cover for unauthorised calls isn’t taken into account. Surely this is the main reason for having the insurance. I have a friend who had £1200 of unauthorised calls on his stolen phone. He wished he had taken the insurance.
Samsung D500 Mobile Phone for Meditation

According to this article in the Telegraph, Samsung have noticed that a lot of us brits just don’t like being available all the time and have branded us ‘anti-digital’. So theyre now bundling a bunch of soothing sounds and meditation images with the Samsung D500. NOt sure about this. When I’m feeling ‘anti-digital’, the OFF button usually does the trick.
